Why can’t I open my garage door?
This could be for a number of reasons e.g:
Does the key turn in the lock to unlock the handle? If not you will have a problem with the lock or handle
Does the handle turn but door doesn’t unlock? If this is the case usually this is a problem with a broken lock cable
Why won’t my automatic garage door shut?
The most likely reason is a fault with the sensors. Give me a call and I’ll come and sort it out. Do you only repair Hormann garage doors? No, I can repair and service any other make and model of garage door.
Will you fit any other make of garage door?
I only supply Hormann garage doors to my customers, but if you have already bought a different make of garage door somewhere else I am quite happy to come and fit it for you
Which is the cheapest type of garage door?
Steel canopy doors with manual operation are the cheapest type of door, but you will find that GRP and sectional doors are also competitively priced. See the types of garage door page for more information.
What is a sectional garage door?

How can I find out the make and model of my existing garage door?
Take a look at the handle outside for a name of the manufacturer or look on the rear of the door for the identification label. This is located in different places depending on the make of door. The first place to start is usually at eye level.
How do I stop timber garage doors from rotting?
New timber doors are supplied ready-treated against insect and fungal attack. To maintain their beautiful natural appearance timber doors need to be treated with wood preservative.
Why is my garage door suddenly heavy to lift?
You could have broken springs or loss of tension which will need adjusting.
The rollers could have worn out
Why is my garage door hanging down at one side?
This problem usually means you are going to need new cone and cables.
